We examine issues of concern in depth and we have specialized in training which looks at the demand for potential success of Government, Local Government, Religious Bodies, Private Organizations, NGOâÂÂs, Voluntary Organizations and Community Organizations as well as the Private Sector.Role Objective Our client, a rapidly growing retail chain in Nairobi, is seeking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support daily financial operations across its stores. This position offers a great opportunity for candidates looking to build solid experience in retail finance, inventory management, and statutory compliance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Core Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports including Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Handle daily store transactions and reconcile POS (Point of Sale) reports against cash, card, and mobile payments. Reconcile daily sales with bank deposits to ensure accuracy and completeness of revenue records. Support inventory management through participation in stock-takes and reconciliation of physical stock with system records. Identify and report stock variances and assist in implementing control measures. Verify supplier invoices against Goods Received Notes (GRNs) prior to payment processing. Support Accounts Payable functions and maintain accurate supplier reconciliations. Assist in payroll processing including computation of wages, overtime, and commissions. Support the preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory deductions. Assist in budget preparation and provide basic variance analysis where necessary. Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records in line with company policies. Support audit processes by preparing required documentation. Perform any other duties as assigned by management. Job Specifications and Qualifications CPA Foundation or CPA Part I. Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience, preferably in retail or supermarket operations. Experience with POS reconciliation and inventory accounting is an added advantage. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Key Competencies Strong integrity and sense of responsibility Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work well in a fast-paced retail setting.
